Do you are someone you know have a Federal Pacific Electrical panel in their home or business. These panels need to be replaced for two reasons, age and they are unsafe. The circuit breakers in your Federal Pacific panel may not trip when needed.

Just last week we were called to evaluate a circuit wire that had bubbled up. Upon arrival I found a cable that had been overloaded to the point that the sheath covering started to boil. I also found a Federal Pacific panel circuit breaker as the source of power to this cable. The circuit was to the homeowners airconditioning unit, about a week before they experience trouble with the airconditioner, it seized up, but the breaker never tripped it just "hummed". The circuit breaker had to be manually shut off.
There are countless stories like this one, some are a lot or worse, people have lost their homes due to fires because a circuit breaker didn't "trip" when it was supposed to. Some independent studies show that the fail rate of federal pacific circuit breakers could be as high as 65%. That means that more than half of all the circuit breakers in your panel may not work properly.
The good news is that our St Louis Electricians and St Charles Electricians can upgrade your panel to a new safe UL listed panel. There are many values to upgrading your electrical panel or entire service upgrade.
